This card was made for my upline’s monthly team meeting. The creative challenge for the month was to make an anniversary card. I am always drawn to neutrals, and I wanted to use the Very Vanilla Lace Trim, so I selected beige colors and simple stamps.

I like how the card turned out, and I plan to send it to my cousin who is celebrating 40 years of marriage this month. A big congratulations to her and to her husband. I think they will enjoy the greeting, although I think brown roses are hard to find anywhere other than on this card!

To make the card, I cut the Soft Suede card stock, then scored and folded the base. Since Soft Suede can look dark, I chose a softer look for the rose by stamping it in Crumb Cake ink onto Very Vanilla card stock. I cropped the rose and the layer behind it using the Layering Squares Framelits Dies. With the Detailed Trio punch, I cut eyelets into both of the top corners on the Very Vanilla Layer, and glued it to the card base. I then adhered the layers with the rose to the card.

I then stamped the sentiment onto Very Vanilla card stock using Soft Suede ink, and then I layered the sentiment onto a piece of Soft Suede card stock.  Before adhering to the card, I glued a piece of ribbon to the back of the Soft Suede, then adhered the glued piece to the card, lining up both edges.

A medium Very Vanilla envelope from Stampin’ Up! coordinates well with this card, and I am now ready to send it.

It was a simple card to make, although I fussed with a few colors and layouts before I landed on the final design. I like the color combination, and the complement of the two brown inks. The lace provides a subtle touch, and brings elegance to a simple, pretty card.

Here are the measurements of the card and the layers.:
