A new day brings a new card with the gorgeous Dashing Along Designer Series Paper (DSP). This DSP is a host reward in the month of September – FREE with a $250 individual or workshop order.

I love this paper, and I am having fun using it for cards to share with you. This piece with the colors of Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green reminds me of wrapping paper. And what do you do with DSP that looks like wrapping paper? You make a card that looks like a present, of course!

Bring on the Presents with Dashing Along DSP

This is a really simple card that can be made quickly. Adhering the strips of paper was a little messy for me, but not too bad. I made a card base by cutting Garden Green card stock at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, then scored the long side at 4 1/4″, folded, and burnished it with a bone folder. I used my Stampin’ Trimmer for cutting and scoring – it is convenient to have one tool for both.

I then cut the DSP at 5 3/8″ x 4 1/8″. I kept the margins thin so it looks like a wrapped gift. Then it was time for a bow, and a great bow at that! The bow stamp is from Bring On The Presents. I stamped it with Garden Green ink on Garden Green card stock. I cropped the bow by running the bow die (from the All The Presents thinlets) through the Big Shot. I also used the thinlets  and the Big Shot to cut two pieces of Garden Green “ribbon”. Who needs silky ribbons and bows when you can cut them from paper?!!

To construct the card, I laid the paper “ribbons” perpendicular, crossing at the center. I glued the “ribbons” to the DSP using a Fine Tip Glue Pen, then trimmed the ends flush with the edge of the DSP.  I popped the bow with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then glued the DSP panel onto the card base, and my “gift was wrapped”.

In planning the card,I played around with a few ideas: tags, sentiments, embellishments, etc. I decided to add a little Wink of Stella on the bow for some glimmer and shine. To keep the card plain and “gifty” looking, I opted to stamp the sentiment on the inside. The “Seasons Greetings” stamp is also from the Bring On the Presents set.

Cute, simple and festive. That’s all we can ask for. You could make multiples of this and give a set as a gift.
