Hello Sunshine is an appropriate sentiment for a simple spring card. I am ready for spring – longer days, warmer weather, flowers and sunshine. The stamps I used are from the Under My Umbrella stamp set, which coordinates with the Umbrella Builder Punch. You can buy the stamp set and the punch as a bundle and receive a 10% discount.
The card base is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Very Vanilla Thick card stock, scored and folded at 4 1/4″. The Very Vanilla layers are 3 3/4″ x 3/4″, and 3 1/2″ x 2 1/4″. The Terracotta Tile layers are 2 5/8″ x 5 1/2″, 3 3/4″ x 7/8″, and 3 5/8″ x 2 3/8″. The designer paper layer is 2 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. Scrap pieces of designer paper, Very Vanilla card stock and Terracotta Tile card stock are needed for stamped images.
To make the card, I stamped the Hello Sunshine element onto the long strip of Very Vanilla, I chose Early Espresso ink because it gives a dark image that is a little bit softer than black. I stamped the rain boots on a scrap of Terracotta Tile, the flowers on Very Vanilla, and the umbrella on the designer paper. After stamping the flowers, I used Old Olive Stampin’ Blends, both light and dark to color the leaves of the flowers, and Calypso Coral and Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends for the flowers. I dotted the center of the flowers using the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker, then cut the flowers and the boots with paper snips. I cut the stamped umbrella with the Umbrella Builder Punch, then layered it on the umbrella handle that I had stamped on the Very Vanilla layer.
After stamping and cutting I assembled the card by adhering the vanilla and designer layers to the Terracotta Tile layers. The designer paper layer was adhered first, then the other elements were added. I notched the right side of the strip for the sentiment with the Triple Banner Punch, then added three Champagne Rhinestones before gluing it across the top of the card. I glued the boots, then layered the flowers above them using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. After gluing the umbrella (downward to greet the sunshine!), I added a large Champagne Rhinestone for some umbrella bling!
