Nature’s Beauty for the InKing Royalty Blog Hop. Welcome to the August blog hop. The themes for 2020 are celebrations, and this month’s projects celebrate Autumn Weather, so prepare yourself for projects that are filled with warm tones and beautiful nods to the upcoming change in weather. We are excited to share our creations with you today. After you read my post, please hop over to the blog of the next person on the list below.
This project was a bit of a challenge for me. Autumn colors are easy, but autumn weather was not! I thought a lot about what to make, and I finally settled on stamping trees in multiple fall colors. The trees from the Nature’s Beauty stamp set are small, so I made a little autumn forest with leaves changing in the autumn weather. I hope you like my autumn weather card.
To make the multi-colored trees, I used the brush end of various fall colors of Stampin’ Write Markers. I colored on the stamp, then “huffed” (breathed hard) on the inked stamp to add a bit of moisture, then stamped the trees on white card stock. I used stamps from the Waterfront set for a ground cover beneath the trees, then layered the stamped panel on plaid paper and a layer of Blackberry Bliss card stock. I stamped the sentiment ” No Matter the Weather We’re Friends Forever” from Under My Umbrella stamp set in Blackberry Bliss on a layer of Mango Melody card stock.
Once I figured out what I wanted to make, this was a pretty quick and easy project, although I did make a few (several) prototypes of the trees. I now have a stack of stamped autumn weather tress on my table, and I have a colorful card to send to my friend!

So pretty! And it’s great to bring out older techniques for a reminder!
Thanks Jackie. Yes, these small(ish) tress required markers. This was a fun hop today.
It may have been a challenge for you, but the CARD IS GORGEOUS. I can feel the autumn air.
Thanks so much Ann. I am glad you like the card and I appreciate your kind comment. Fun hop today.
Oh my goodness, I love this card! Trees are my favorite things and these are lovely!
Thanks Sheryl. I am glad you like the leaves. They were actually pretty easy to do with Stampin’ Write Markers. This is a great hop today.
Love the colors on this card, Linda! And the sentiment is perfect for today’s theme.
Thanks Candy – really bright colors for autumn!
What a beautiful way to showcase autumn weather than to show the colors of trees during the season. Absolutely goregous.
Thanks Robbye. I am glad you like the card. This was a fun hop today.
I love these trees, but I really, really love the way you’ve layered the pattered paper around that strip. Great card, Linda!
Thanks Brian – high praise. I am glad you like the card. Thanks for organizing this great hop today.
Your markered trees are beautiful. I enjoy using this technique.
Thanks Robin! The trees came out pretty well. The Stampin’ Write Markers work great for coloring stamps.
Pretty scene! Reminds me of driving over the mountains seeing some fall colors, although our fall colors aren’t as spectacular as in other parts of the country. I forget about the pretty little trees in Nature’s Beauty. Love how you used the Waterfront set to ground them!
Thank you Sheryl. I appreciate your kind comment. We moved to New England last year, so we have loads of fall colors! And can you believe that the leaves are already starting to change color? Fun hop today. Thanks again.
This is such the perfect fall scene. I really like the little forest you created
Thanks Jennifer. I am glad you like it. It was a challenge to think of, but fun to make.
Linda, this is absolutely stunning!! I love that you used your Stampin’ Writes, I don’t utilize them nearly as much as I should!! Also, the DSP “peeking” out is awesome! Such a nice touch!
Aww, thanks Joanne. I am glad you like the card. The only way besides markers that I know of for coloring like this is with baby wipes, and these trees are too small. I’m glad you like the DSP- the colors coordinated, so it had to go there!!
I love the multicolored trees. We both had a similar idea for our images today. Pairing it with the plaid was a perfect touch. Makes me want to put on a scarf and drink a pumpkin latte!
Thanks Pam. Yes, we had similar ideas for today’s project. I laughed when I saw your scoring – I had actually scored t=my card base and then wnet in a different direction. Great minds! Grab a pumpkin latte, but forget the scarf!!
I love how you turn the single stamp into a grove of trees! Beautiful card.
Your trees really remind me of my childhood. The touches of plaid really coordinate so well. Great card!
Very lovely trees! I can’t wait for Autumn!
