Two Celebrations on October 5, 2019. Yes, that is correct! We have two things to celebrate, and both are important to me: World Card Making Day, and World Teachers Day. What will you do today for these celebrations?
So, let’s get ready for World Card Making Day, today, October 5, 2019. This annual holiday is celebrated the first Saturday in October. It started in 2006 to encourage crafters to get a head start on making cards for the holiday season. It is a special day to encourage everyone around the globe to create a handmade card.
Would you like a way to show people that you are thinking about them? That they are special? Try making cards for them today. Nothing says “I care” more than a card, especially one that you made yourself.
It is fun to spend World Card Making Day with others. I will participate in an event with other demonstrators, and I am looking forward to it. Your event doesn’t have to be formal. Put some paper crafting supplies on the table, invite a friend or several, sit down, and start making some cards. If you have a kit, like Paper Pumpkin on hand, share it too. You will enjoy your event, and so will your guests. And everyone will be satisfied when they send the cards they made.
Today is also World Teachers Day. Teaching are near and dear to me – education was my first profession. I was a Spanish teacher for several years. I have tons of respect for the profession, and I hope that since the day falls on a Saturday this year, that all teachers will be honored and be able to celebrate.
What can you do to show respect to a teacher? It takes very little to say thank you. Apples are in season. Emails, texts and phone calls work. There are thousands of little ways to show appreciation.
The current stamp set in the 2019 holiday catalog called Harvest Hellos has a cute teacher stamp – “For an A+ Teacher”. If you have the set, you can make something easy for a teacher that you know (and since it is World Card Making Day, it is a great day for a card!). If you don’t have the set, you can improvise.
This pack of pencils that would make a cute gift. The apple and the sentiment are from the Harvest Hellos bundle.
And here is a card with the same apples and stamped sentiment. You can learn more about the stamp set and both of these projects on a blog entry that I recently posted. Click here to access the post.
That’s what I have for you today. Two lesser known holidays to celebrate today. Enjoy, and please share the projects that you make.
Thanks for visiting my site today. There are two celebrations on October 5, 2019, so celebrate today, and please contact me with questions or comments.
