World of Good Suite Collection part three features sample projects shown in the Stampin’ Up! 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. This series of three posts spotlights products from the World of Good Suite Collection that evoke memories of  worldwide adventures with travel patterns and brass accents. The first post, which you can see here, introduces the suite and its products. The second post includes materials and instructions for sample projects from the annual catalog for beginner and casual stampers. Click here to see post # two. Today’s projects include techniques for the avid crafter. Below are card “recipes”, basic instructions, and the page number where you will find each sample in the annual catalog.

Project One: Travel Journal, page # 24world of good journal avid crafter

Stampin’ Up! Materials

  • Stamps:  Beautiful World
  • Paper:
    • Whisper White card stock: 8-1/2″ x 8-1/4″, scored and folded in half at 4-1/4″. Four pieces of 8-1/4″ x 8″ scored in half at 4-1/8″. ~2″x 3″ scrap for sentiment  (or size to fit your desired stitched rectangle die)
    • Mossy Meadow card stock: scrap piece for the globe
    • Cinnamon Cider card stock: 8-1/2″ x 8-1/4″
    • Misty Moonlight card stock: scrap piece for the globe
    • World Of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper
    • Brass Foil Sheets
  • Ink: Mossy Meadow, Early Espresso, Cinnamon Cider, Misty Moonlight
  • Tools: Tear and Tape, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, Stitched Rectangles Dies, World Map Dies, Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder
  • Embellishments: Antiqued Corners & Slides Elements, Early Espresso Faux Suede Trim

Instructions

  1. Create the travel journal cover with the 8-1/2″ x 8-1/4 card stock. Score and fold at 4 1/4″.
  2. Fill the cover with the four pieces of 8-1/4″ x 8″,  scored at 4 1/8″. Adhere the pieces together on the fold with Tear and Tape and then adhere them to the inside of the cover.
  3. Stamp the sentiment “Life’s a Beautiful Journey” in MIsty Moonlight ink on the white card stock scrap.
  4. Ink the feather stamp and the swirl stamp in Cinnamon Cider. Stamp off by first stamping onto scratch paper, then stamp the swirl below the sentiment. Stamp the feather on white scrap, then cut with the feather die.
  5. Cut sentiment with Stitched Rectangle die.
  6. Adhere the feather to the rectangle with the sentiment.
  7. You can stamp the globe in Mossy Meadow on Mossy Meadow card stock, and then die cut it, or you can skip the stamping and die cut the globe.
  8. Using the circle from the die set, cut a circle of Misty Moonlight card stock
  9. Adhere the Mossy Meadow globe to the Misty Moonlight circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  10. Cut the globe stand with the dies from Brass Foil, or stamp them and then die cut them. Arrange with globe.
  11. Cut the Cinnamon Cider card stock in half horizontally so it will fit in the embossing folder sleeve. Emboss both pieces of the card stock with the Old World Paper Embossing Folder.
  12. Adhere to the card stock to the front cover, and layer the ribbon (trim) on the seam, adhering it with Tear and Tape.
  13. Add a panel of designer paper to the front of the journal, then assemble the globe, and the sentiment, adhering them to the layer.
  14. Add Antiqued Corners to the front cover.
  15. Tie the trim in a bow to close the journal.

Project Two: 4″ Square Card, page # 25world of good square card avid crafter

Stampin’ Up! Materials

  • Stamps:  Beautiful World
  • Paper:
    • Mossy Meadow card stock: 4″ x 8″ scored and folded in half at 4″, and 3-7/8″ square panel, and ~5″ x 8″ panel for die cut globes
    • Whisper White card stock: 3-7/8″ square for inside panel, and scraps for sentiment and feather
    • Brass Foil Sheets: scrap for label
  • Ink: Mossy Meadow, Cinnamon Cider 
  • Tools: Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals, World Map Dies, Classic Label Punch, Die Cutting Machine
  • Embellishments: Linen Thread

Instructions

  1. Cut and fold the Mossy Meadow card base.
  2. Die cut seven globes from the Mossy Meadow card stock, and glue them to the Mossy Meadow square panel.
  3. Wrap linen thread around the the panel, and glue on the back side.
  4. Stamp the feather with Mossy Meadow ink on white card stock, then cut with feather die. Place on the linen thread.
  5. Stamp the sentiment in Cinnamon Cider ink on white card stock, then cut it with the Classic Label punch.
  6. Use the Classic Label Punch and the Brass Foil Sheet to cut a background for the label. Cut the punched label in two pieces (in half), then place it below the punched sentiment so the brass ends extend. Adhere to the card on the linen thread and the feather.
  7. Adhere the white panel to the inside of the card for writing.

Project Three: Note Card, page # 25world of good note card avid crafter

Stampin’ Up! Materials

  • Stamps:  Beautiful World
  • Paper:
    • Early Espresso card stock: 7″ x 5″ scored and folded in half at 3-1/2″ to form card base
    • Crumb Cake card stock: 3″ x 4-1/2″ panel
    • Whisper White card stock: scraps for feather and ink blotte
    • Misty Moonlight card stock: 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ inch for sentiment
    • World Of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper: 2-7/8″ x 4-3/8″ panel
    • Brass Foil Sheets: scraps for swirls
  • Ink: Versamark, Early Espresso, Cinnamon Cider, Bumblebee 
  • Tools: Stampin’ Dimensionals, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Tailored Tag Punch, Water Painters, World Map Dies, Stampin’ Seal, Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder, Heat Tool
  • Embellishments: White Stampin’ Emboss Powder

Instructions

  1. Cut and fold the Early Espresso card base.
  2. On white card stock, stamp the feather in Bumblebee ink, and the ink blotter in Cinnamon Cider ink. Die cut each with the corresponding die.
  3. Use the “swirl” die to cut brass foil swirl shapes. 
  4. Stamp the sentiment in Versamark on the misty Moonlight card stock, then sprinkle the white embossing powder on the sentiment. Shake off excess, then heat with the heat tool until the powder is melted and the embossing is shiny. Cut the sentiment with the Tailored Tag Punch.
  5. Dry emboss the Crumb Cake panel with the Old World Paper Embossing Folder, then tear the edges of the paper. Adhere the designer paper panel to the torn paper, making adjustments to show both layers. Use the water painters to splatter Early Espresso ink on the layers.
  6. Adhere the layered panels to the card base, and then assemble the card.

    • Mini Paper Pumpkin Box
    • Whisper White card stock: 3″ x 3″ scrap for sentiment
    • Crumb Cake card stock: 3″ x 3″ for globe
    • Mossy Meadow card stock: 2″ x 2″ for swirl
    • Misty Moonlight card stock: 4-1/2″ x 5/8″ for strap
    • World Of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper
  • Ink: Crumb Cake, Cinnamon Cider

Instructions

  1. Use Tear and Tape to adhere the patterned designer paper to the Mini Paper Pumpkin Box, around all edges. Use paper snips to cut out carefully. Assemble the box.
  2. Satmp the sentiment in Cinnamon Cider on white card stock, then cut with the Postage Stamp punch.
  3. Stamp the globe in Crumb Cake on Crumb Cake card stock, then die cut with the globe die. Note – you can also die cut without stamping.
  4. Dies cut a swirl from Mossy Meadow card stock.
  5. Cut a couple of mixed pieces and images from the World of Good Memories & More Card Pack. Note – you could also use designer paper.
  6. Layer the swirls, the globe cut out and the sentiment on/over the designer paper pieces and adhere.
  7. Place the Misty Moonlight strap to the top of the box. Add Antiqued Corners with mini glue dots and adhere to the top of the box.
  8. Cut two strips of the Faux Suede Trim to wrap around the box, and thread each through and Antique Slide. Attach each to the box as a “strap”. When you unbuckle the straps, the box will open easily.
