Zany Zebras Wild About You!zany zebras wild about you! the stamp coach

Zany Zebras Wild About You! is another card from the popular Zany Zebras stamp set from Stampin’ Up! I previously posted projects I made with this set for recent blog hops. The zebras are really fun, the sentiments cover a span of occasions, and the images are more versatile than I expected. Would you like to see my other zebra projects? I made today’s card for a challenge. My team leader gave us three colors: Mossy Meadow, Merry Merlot, and Pretty Peacock, and asked us to make a project with all three colors. My first reaction was to not participate, because I could not imagine how I could incorporate those three colors into an eye-appealing card. But, I am not one to shy away from a challenge, so I accepted, and pulled out the zany zebras stamp set. The striped zebras are cute in any color, and as a result, all of the colors somehow worked together. This is a good project for beginners, and I like the finished card. What do you think?

Here are the colors from the challenge. I added Whisper White for the stamped images.

Slimline cards are quite popular now, and i was eager to try one.The zebras work well across the front of the card. I used all three inks, and stamped the center zebra twice in Merry Merlot, once on the main white panel, and once on a scrap of white. I trimmed the zebra from the scrap with paper snips, and adhered it to the image on the card, elevating it with Stampin’. Dimensionals. After stamping, I layered the the stamped white panel on the Merry Merlot and Mossy Meadow layers, then wrapped a ribbon around the left edge, tied it in a knot and trimmed the ends.  I added some touches of Wink of Stella and rhinestones for eyes, then three holiday rhinestones on the upper right.

The slimline, 8-1/2″ x 3-1/2″ card fits into a standard business envelope – Yay! So, I stamped a zebra on the envelope to match the card.
